There is certainly absinthe in Australia, in fact there is one absinthe made there. Whether or not it is the real wormwood absinthe....hmmm?? Difficult to say. I think Australia is home to the Fairy Bomb as well.

Moulin Rooz is the Oz variety, they also have a whole bunch of czech absinthe in Australia. That fairy bomb is a czech absinthe mixer drink in a can, also its a club cocktail.

There were serious nanny state style regulations on drinking in Australia. Absinthe is legal though, I heard that one bar in Sydney only allows patrons to have two (maybe 3, can't recall) absinthes then no more.
