There are many absinthes that don't tatse like a licorice stick! Anise is over used by modern distillers who both rate the louche too highly and do not know how to handle wormwood. To start with: which absinthes have you tried?

wikipedia says that absinthe is a anise drink & IPSO FACTo it is licorice flavour.

I had the same question. I have never had absinthe but my boyfriend has. He hated the licorice flavir so i wanted to find him one that's still high alcohol content but doesn't taste like licorice . U never named any in the above article. Would love some advice on mabea a great sample kit like the ones i see with 4 lil' bottles.
