I hear that the Cadogan Hotel, 75 Sloane Street London SW1, have created a special Oscar Wilde menu (to "celebrate" him being arrested there 115 years ago) For 8.50 you can have the "Oscar Wilde Absinthe Special” made with absinthe, gomme, angostura bitters and gin. There are other food delights as well. Am I alone in thinking this is a tacky stunt?

Sadly Michael Hutchence hung himself in Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Sydney, David Carradine did the same in a Thai hotel room. Perhaps they will follow The Cadogan model?

The only reference I can see in their salivation to dine is the word "informal"

Not really...if you think about it as opposed to just REACTING. A comment on the unfortunate use of Oscar Wilde's demise and death to sell hotel rooms. THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE, or are catholics taught not to do that?
